The give and take of life

The give and take of life

$7,800.00

The world works on a cycle of giving and taking.
The sun provides light and warmth, and the world flourishes beneath its glow.
The clouds shower us with rain, and the earth soaks it up and yields nourishment.
It all seems so simple. The give and take is effortless.
Why is it then, that when it comes to some of us, we have a hard time taking the hand that is offered?
Why do we feel the need to turn it down? After all, Who would the sun shine on if we refused to bask in its glow?
Would the rain just sit on the surface, if the earth refused to let it in?
Would we let the crops just wither and die because we’re to prideful to take what has been given? Or shouldn’t we rather receive and continue the natural order by passing it along?
Yes, it’s nice to be on the giving end, but sometimes the kindest thing to do, is just to receive.

The children are content in their father’s arms. They have their treats and are happy to be part of the excitement. The men say a prayer on their behalf. After all, they are just babies, Incapable of prayer just yet. I watch the kids from the women’s side, So innocent and carefree. How absolutely adorable they are collectively! I look at the adults surrounding me. We look sure and in charge. Yet even the oldest among us, are as powerless as the baby in its mother’s womb. I smile at the scene before me, But the view from my heart is different than my eyes. All I see,is a room full of children, praying for their father to protect them and take them home.
